Tunes (Silves)

Tunes is a Portuguese Parish in the Municipality (concelho) of Silves. It has an area of 12.13 km², has a population of ca. 2,002 (2001), and a population density of 166.7 hab/km².
Some historians think that the local area was originally inhabited by people from Tunis in Tunisia, hence the name "Tunes".
The town is most noted for a train station.
