Please can you change the Tudor Hassett section, so it says a young actor instead of a minor one.

This should surely be a disambiguation page. Rich Farmbrough 16:00, 1 Jul 2004 (UTC)

  • Well for the time being I have merged the content with Tudor dynasty and redirected there because everything I wanted to say to expand this stub had been said already in the other article. You are welcome to disambiguate from here if you wish. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 14:09, 3 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Does anyone know if the occurence of the surname in Romania is a co-incidence, or whether there's some link? Hughcharlesparker 21:35, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

No direct link, but 'Tudor' is a christian name in both Wales and Romania (originally spelt 'Tewdr' in Wales before the spelling was Anglicised to 'Tudor'). It evolved independantly in each country as an equivalent of 'Theodor'. Due to evolving Welsh naming conventions in the middle ages (that a son of a man called Tudor might be referred to as '(forename) ap Tudor' i.e '(forename), son of Tudor' and this being misundersood by the English as a surname) it migrated over in Wales to become a surname. Hence the Tudor dynasty.Indisciplined (talk) 19:12, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
