Mthwakazi

Mthwakazi is a separatist movement which represents the western, Ndebele-speaking half of Zimbabwe .This separatist movement does not have any formal leadership even though they want the province of Matebeleland to become an independent state free from Zimbabwe with its own governance .The name Mthwakazi is deprived from the Ndebele kingdom established by Mzilikazi .The people of Matebeleland don't really have a solid reason why the want to be an independent state some claim that they have heard enough of the irresponsible Shona leadership of Robert Mugabe .The other reason the people of Matebeleland want to become an independent state is because they feel that the Shona leadership has been intentionally sabotaging them since they came into power in 1980 .Some political analysts however think that this movement will not go anywhere since it does not have grassroots support from the people of Matebeleland the majority of the people who support this movement are in diaspora they are not in Matebeland 65.95.60.173 05:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
