Tsintskaro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Tsin Tskaro" or "Tsintskaro" (Georgian: წინწყარო) is a Georgian folk song from the Kartli-Kakhetian region. Its title loosely translates as, "By the Stream." The song is usually performed by a male vocalist and choir. Although this song is unfamiliar to most Westerners, its haunting melody has been seized on by Western artists, who have incorporated the song into their works of art, such as the Kate Bush song "Hello Earth", and the Werner Herzog 1979 remake of Nosferatu.
Tsintskaro is also the name of a town in the nation of Georgia.
