Thank you. Um, I'm new, and I know I have a lot of homework to do (which I will). But the first thing I did after receiving the nice message that referred me to all the useful help material was a dumb mistake: I uploaded an image to wikipedia instead of to the private wiki it was supposed to go on. I didn't see anything in the help about deleting an image. Is there a way to undo that mistake? Or do I just have to leave the image in the database?
Thanks, and I promise I won't so much as sign in before I read up on the rules & conventions!
- I deleted the uploaded image based on the request on my user page. I hope this is what you wanted. Best, Kukini 23:15, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Hello, you used the {{helpme}} tag. How may I help you? When you've asked your question, please put the tag back so we know to check back. Alternatively, you can join the Wikipedia Bootcamp IRC channel to get real-time help. (Use the web-based client to get instant access.) Luna Santin 23:06, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, but we love new users -- personally, I say the best motto is to just be bold and learn as you go. Generally, somebody will let you know when you mess up too badly, or will just fix the problem, and in cases where you need help, there's plenty of ways to get it, from the help desk to {{helpme}}. :) The learning curve is a bit steep, but we do what we can to ease it up a bit. Now, in this case, I'd recommend adding {{db-author}} to the image's description page; that should get the point across pretty well. Luna Santin 23:14, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
