True Life

True Life is a documentary series running on MTV since 1998. Each episode follows a particular topic such as heroin addiction in the first episode, "Fatal Dose".
The show is created by following a series of subjects by a camera crew through a certain part of their life. Depending on the season and topic, the production values vary. Different numbers of cameras or personal microphones can result in more or less interesting video or clear audio.
In 2005–06 MTV Canada produced a series of Canadian-made True Life episodes, which are yet to air. It is not known if the Canadian shows will air on MTV US.

As evidenced by the episode listing below, True Life has covered everything from drug use, money issues, sexual topics to simple social behavior like visiting the Jersey Shore.
There is an occasional intersection between this show and other shows. For example, the episode "I'm a Reality TV Star" featured people from Real World and Survivor, while the episode "I'm a Muay Thai Fighter" featured Kit Cope who has recently signed a deal with the WFA.
