Trucks in Pakistan

Trucks in Pakistan are considered as the moving art.These are quite distinct in their lay out from all other trucks of the world.They are like the moving art galleries depicting all themes of life through its adorned art work[1]. .Although the venture to decorate the trucks is much expensive yet it is practised in Pakistan and some countries of central Asia with an aesthetic zeal and zest .

In Pakistan the truck driver usually pays $3,000 to $5,000[2] for its external decoration .This decor includes structural changes of truck , paintings , calligraphy , ornamental decor and many others.Mirror work on the front and back of truck and wooden cravings on wooden doors of the trucks are frequently used .Usually the driver takes the truck to coachworkshop soon after its purchase for its decor.The artsmen embellish the truck according to the taste of driver.[3].

Karachi is considered as the major bedecking centre for the trucks.There is also a uniqueness in décor style of every city of Pakistan.The Balochistani and Peshawari trucks are much trimmed with wood. Rawalpindi and Islamabadi trucks have plastic work in prominent .Camel bone work is much seen in trucks which are decorated by Sindh artists[4].Thus these trucks also serve as representatives of different historical and regional areas of Pakistan
