Haithabu was near the city of Schleswig in Schleswig-Holstein , Germany.
Wulfstan von Haithabu ,Jutland was a traveler who took a recorded journey across the Baltic Sea, where he visited the Old Prussian trading center of Truso near Elbing and Danzig, near the Vistula River.

It had been incorrectly moved from Haithabu.

I have made the point that Ebling considers Truso to be its antecedent. Also, I am unsure that there is any behesting from Alfred: the only source I am aware of relates the bare details of Wulfstan's journey. Investigations continue... sjc

The newest discoveries claim that Truso was bulit by Vikings from Jutland, not by the Balts. Im from ElblÄ…g ang I'm interested in my region's history, I've heard about it at a historical conference in my hometown.
