Tropical Storm Helene

The name Helene has been used for four tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean.
- 1958's Hurricane Helene - powerful storm that grazed Cape Hatteras, causing $11 million in damage.
- 1988's Hurricane Helene - Category 4 storm that stayed in the open sea, never threatening land.
- 2000's Tropical Storm Helene - entered Caribbean Sea, made landfall at Fort Walton Beach, Florida, exited at the North Carolina coast and regained tropical storm strength heading northeast. One person was killed by a tornado and damage was minor.
- 2006's Hurricane Helene - A category three in the open ocean. Never threatened land.
The name Helene was also used for one tropical cyclone in the Western Pacific.

The name should not be confused with Helena, which was used for a tropical storm during the 1963 Atlantic hurricane season, or Helen, which was used for a typhoon during the 1972 Pacific typhoon season.
