Trochacea is an older name for the taxon which is now known as Trochoidea, a superfamily of small to large sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the superorder Vetigastopoda.

The shells of the species in this superfamily are distinguished by an iridescent interior surface, and the presence of a corneous or calcareous operculum.

These snails live on rocky surfaces, consuming algae and loose edible particles.
