Gerald Lepkowski as Roberto AMERICAN COUSINS is Gerald Lepkowski’s first lead role in a major feature film and he plays a pivotal part in AMERICAN COUSINS that is set to thrust him into the public’s consciousness. Born in Scotland, Lepkowski trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
He worked extensively in Australia on the stage and he played Tysefew in THE DUTCH COURTESAN, Claudio in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Roger & Arthur in THE BALCONY, Vershinin in THE THREE SISTERS, Krogstaad in A DOLL’S HOUSE and Orsino in TWELTH NIGHT, all with the Melborne Theatre Company. Lepkowski then went on to appear in several Australian TV series including THE DAMNATION OF HARVEY MCHUGH (1994), HALIFAX: F.P (1996), GOOD GUYS BAD GUYS (1997) ands roles in feature films THE LAST OF THE RYANS (1997) and WITCH HUNT (1999).
Returning to the UK in 2000, Lepkowski has since had parts in MONARCH OF THE GLEN (2000), THE BILL (1983), RANDALL & HOPKIRK DECEASED (2000) and a regular role in 2000 ACRES OF SKY (2001).
Lepkowski will soon be seen in the British horror feature film DOCTOR SLEEP (2002) alongside Shirley Henderson and SIXTEEN YEARS OF ALCOHOL (2002). Lepkowski brings a believable charm to the character of Roberto and his simple, humble lifestyle, in a meaty role that will touch the film’s audience[1]
His long term partner is actress Frances O'Connor, who gave birth to the couples first child Emma in April 2005.
