Gary Mackay Steven, born in Thurso on the 31 August 1989 [1][2], is a Scottish footballer, currently playing for Liverpool FC. He playes predominantly on the left wing.

Having come through the youth system at Ross County FC, he impressed on trial with Liverpool [3]. On 16 March 2007 he signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Anfield club from the end of the 2006/7 English Premiership season, for an undisclosed fee thought to go into six figures [4].
