Tringa Smail Martini
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tringe Smajl Martini Ivezaj (or, simply, Tringe Smaili) was a girl from the Montenegrin village of Gruda who battled the Turks after her father, the clan leader, was taken hostage in 1911 at the battle of Vranye. Tringe Smaijl led the Martinais to victory against the Turks.
The New York Times described Tringe Smail as the "Albanian Joan of Arc".
