What would you guys think about creating Hottest 100 by Year articles? Ambi 05:32, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

An excellent idea. I hadn't done them yet for fear of being instantly VFDed. (Well, that, and the usual "laziness" :) ) -- Chuq 07:43, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
It'd be nice if someone a little better at formatting than I could set up the page so that the links wouldn't be so obscure (I could pipe-link the years where they are now, but no one would probably notice they were seperate pages). If someone can do that, I'll get to creating individual pages. Ambi 08:30, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Okay, so I was bored - 2003 Triple J Hottest 100. Thoughts? It's also an orphan, so if someone could fix this page up and all, that would be cool. Ambi 10:33, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
So far as name goes - what do you think of Triple J Hottest 100, 2003, instead? -- Chuq 10:38, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Fine with me. Shall I move it? (and is that format okay, as far as creating others go?) Ambi 10:47, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Does anyone know if only songs released during the specified year are elegible for inclusion in the hottest 100? 211.30.104.76 11:23, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I believe the song must be released in that year, except for the first two Hottest 100's

Does anyone elso get a big white gap before the list (due to the side bar thing)? Anyone know how to remove it? 124.171.170.152 (talk) 15:12, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] See also

I've added a see also section with a link to KROQ Top 106.7 Countdowns, as it's an interesting comparison to the hottest 100 - the two radio stations are similarly influential, have similar playlists and target audiences, and these seem to be the only articles on 'listener-voted' countdowns in WP. [edit] 1992

What about the Triple J hottest 100 for 1992 ? 83.67.100.248 15:29, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

There was no Hottest 100 in 1992. Triple J cited that they took a year off to get everything ready for the next year. If there was a Hottest 100 in 1992, Red Hot Chilli Pepper's Under The Bridge would have most likely been #1.
I don"t think it matters what would have come Number 1 Kangaroosrule (talk) 03:00, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Importance rating

I've given this article a high importance rating because the hottest 100 usually coincides with Australia day. Listening to it, having a barbie and playing some backyard cricket has become a national rite of passage for the younger generation. There are often numerous international events based around the hottest 100. As such I think that the hottest 100 is internationally recognisable as an important part of Australian culture. --Spuzzdawg (talk) 04:57, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Table -> Reverse Chronological order?

Could we put the table in reverse chronological order (newest first)? That seems like it would be more useful to me, but I'm open to being overruled. --Irrevenant [ talk ] 07:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
