Though considered one of the mainstream daily newspapers. The Trinidad & Tobago Express has been accused of being out of touch with the real issues affecting the grassroots population. Also that the majority of its' columnists have been accused of 'Armchair Journalism' in which the resident journals obtain their stories over the telephone from sources who may be deemed questionable. Many stories printed have been discredited as inaccurate or in extreme cases false by readers. Lack of Indepth Investigation is another complaint by readers.
