Talk:Trial of the Twenty-One
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Halldór Laxness
Halldór Laxness witnessed the trail and described it in Gerska ævintýrið and later in Skáldatími. In the first edition of Gerska ævintýrið, published 1938, a whole chapter describes the trial with a somewhat approval of it, but in later editions it has changed drastically. In Skáldatími, published 1963, he has completely lost faith in communism and makes it apparent that the trial had been a circus.
[edit] Further account
Conquest has a good account of the 1938 Trial in "The Great Terror". He was also a dis-illusioned former Communist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.4.21 (talk) 10:17, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
