Innervation of a trichobothrium of the house spider Tegenaria, longitudinal section. When the hair shaft (Hs) is deflected (dashed line), the helmet structure (He) pushes against the dendritic terminals (T), triggering the generation of nerve impulses. Rlc = receptor lymph cavity, Sh = sheath cells.
