Trent Kowalik is an American dancer, actor, and singer. In April 2006, he became the youngest American male to win the The World Irish Dancing Championship (Irish: Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne) in Belfast, Northern Ireland at age 11.[1] He made his theatrical debut as the lead in the London cast of Billy Elliot the Musical on December 17, 2007.[2]

Trent is from Wantagh, New York. He started dance lessons at age 3½ at Dorothy's School of Dance. At a young age he started showing natural ability and flair in ballet, tap, and acrobatics. At age 4, he began instruction in Irish dancing, and by age 6, was competing at the highest level, Open Championship. He danced with the Inishfree School of Irish Dance.
At 13 years of age, he is a five-time undefeated North American Champion and a World Champion[3] He holds multiple national titles in Scotland, England, and Ireland. He continues to study ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance, and was named Jr. Mr. Starbound at the July 2006 Nationals in Atlantic City, New Jersey.[4]
His television appearances include HBO's Inside the NFL alongside Bob Costas (November 2005), Good Morning America, and on the BBC. On 17th December 2007, Trent made his debut as Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical[5] at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. His final London show was on 7th June 2008.
He will make his Broadway debut in November 2008, alongside fellow New York cast Billy Elliots, Kiril Kulish and David Alvarez.[6][7]
