Trent Cotchin (born April 7, 1990) is an Australian rules football player, recruited at pick 2 in the 2007 AFL Draft by the Richmond Football Club. He was recruited from the Northern Knights under 18 football club, which made the preliminary finals of the 2007 TAC Cup competition.

The promising young Tiger struggled with injury heading into the 2008 AFL season and was put onto the long term injury list. Cotchin was declared fit to play by round 4, and played 3 matched for Richmond's VFL affilliate side Coburg Tigers.

Cotchin made his debut against Geelong in Round 8, coming in as a late withdrawal for Adam Pattison, picking up 16 possessions and kicking 2 goals. In his debut match Cotchin showed plenty of promise, playing mainly up forward with a few stints on the ball.

Cotchin wears number 9 for the tigers, the same number he wore at the knights. He seems to be a rising star, as he picked up 25 possessions in a recent match, a very good score.
