[edit] Merge

Should be merged under Tree (disambiguation) and Trees should be a redirect. No point having two disambiguation pages for two forms of the same word. SCHZMO 22:35, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Agreed, except trees (like other redirects from plurals) would be better redirected to tree rather than tree (disambiguation) - MPF 01:25, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
You mean, someone searching for the folk-rock group Trees should be redirected to an article on the plant category? --Chris 20:55, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
To expand on my comments, this proposal would effectively render the Joyce Kilmer poem "Trees", the song "Trees", and the two bands "Trees" inaccessible to Wikipedia users. No user is going to enter "Trees (poem)" in the search box. If the search string "Trees" takes them to botanical article "Tree", they're likely to conclude that no article on the poem exists. If they click through to the Tree disambiguation page, they can find the Kilmer poem only by scrolling down. Again, many users are likely to conclude that no article exists.
My advice: keep the pages as they are. The "Trees" disambiguation page serves a useful purpose that would be jeopardized by a merger.--Chris 17:26, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Looks like a dumb joke

I'm removing that "fact" about trees refering to homosexual sailors.
