Won't anybody mention anything about the people of Trebinje and the surrounding region being the tallest in the world on average? It would look good and is something about the towns pride surely! There must be some sources. Celtmist 23-10-05

I've noticed that someone has added in the article that the regions of Herzegovina, Dalmatia, and Montenegro are the places with the tallest people on average. Also, it has been added that the town of Trebinje has the tallest male population on average 6 ft 5 in (1.96 cm).

Can anyone provide a source to support this?

PS. It seems exaggerated to say that the average height is 6 ft 5 in (1.96 cm) but if this is the case it shouldn't be difficult to provide at least one source to support this. - Zec 15:34, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

The part where the average height of Trebinje's male population was has been deleted 13:13, 29 December 2005 by User:Batsos. Maybe due to the fact that nobody has provided a source to support the claim. Anyways, I consider the discussion or the lack of a discussion to be over concerning the average height of the town's male population. - Zec 19:29, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

This Batsos was being a clown, he says he is from Bijelo Polje, that's my town, and he said you are tall if you are 180. He or she is just a comedian. Bolcanic march 11 2006

I've been to Trebinje and know people from there. I was writing in accordance with what they told me. Finding sources is always difficult... when I find it one day, I will rewrite the thing. Personally, I know the average is not under 190 even if 196 is a little far fetched! The Celt 3 February 2006

And Celtmist may vouch that I was born in Trebinje (despite living there only to the age of 3) and I stand at 2,08 Ragusan 09.02.06

Having been to Trebinje, I would say 6' 5" is not an exaggeration for average male height. And the average for women is probably almost 6'. We were sitting in an outdoor cafe in the center of town one summer evening last year, watching probably the entire town walk by over a couple-hour period. Yes Croats, Serbs & Montenegrins are generally very tall, but this was incredible. We are of average height anywhere else in the world, and almost embarassed to get up out of our seats! Jun 6 2008
