English: This tree was cut down in about 1969 after it was hit by lightening (about 37 years prior to this photograph being taken). It still remains rooted in the ground and it has not been sheltered from the weather. The stump is situated in a school in the midlands of the UK and has been worn down by being used as a bench by the school pupils.
