Traver Douglas Rains (born March 4, 1977 in Fort Collins, Colorado) is most commonly known as one half of the design duo Heatherette (the other one being Richie Rich). He has a passion for the West and is a very experienced horse rider. He competed in numerous state and national horse shows and won over 100 all-around titles. It was through this that he first became interested in fashion. He needed great looking garments for affordable prices so he began designing and sewing his own vests and chaps and he still wears his trademark cowboy hat everywhere.

Traver grew up in Simms, Montana, and then moved to Texas when he attended SMU in Dallas. He participated in rowing and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He received a degree in Economics and International Business. He then moved to New York to pursue other endeavours, and still calls it home. He is openly gay.[1]
