Transmitter Szczecin-Kolowo

Transmitter Szczecin-Kolowo is a facility for FM and TV situated at Szczecin-Kolowo in Poland at 53°20′00″N, 14°40′30″E. It uses as antenna tower a 267 metre tall guyed mast.

Transmitter Szczecin-Kołowo is placed in Szczecin on summit of beech forest on extensive TV. Center has been returned for application in 1963 year. It has two antenna masts, which are 267 and 70 metres tall and which are well-visible several kilometres away and threfore a well-known local landmark. Already in the 1930ies, there was an observation tower. In 1963 a 228 metre tall mast for TV broadcasting was installed. Further a 25 metres tall tower for carrying antennas for directional radio services was built. In 1985 a new mast with a height of 267 m was built. The old mast was shortened in 1989 to 61 metres.
