A Tragedy In Progress is the first full length album by Across Five Aprils. During the writing process for this album, they were signed to Indianola Records.

- On the first track "The Helpless Dreams Of An Assassin" at around the 3:12 marker, you can hear something being played backwards. It's the vocalist, Steve Taylor, saying "This is the band Across Five Aprils and it's time to take this song, put it on your computer and hit rewind. If you're hearing what we're saying right now, be proud of yourself because you're really smart."
