- 1895 – The New Haven and Hartford Railroad begins the first regular passenger service in the United States powered by electricity.
- 1924 – The streetcar system in Adrian, Michigan, is abandoned.
- 1963 – The Philadelphia and Reading Railroad's King Coal passenger train makes its final run to Shamokin, Pennsylvania.
