The criteria of this category seems to be a bit on the POV side of things. What determines whether a game is "traditional" or not? User:Chunky Rice

Almost every game tagged in this category (as of now) is already called a "traditional" game in its own WP article — that's how I found them in the first place. In the few cases where the article was unclear (such as Ko Shoji, which is around 300 years old but may have actually been invented by an individual) I included a "remove this tag if this isn't considered a traditional game by those in the know" note in my edit summary (5 of 24 games).

For a related problem, traditional music, which apparently is more something than folk music, but as a fiddler myself I can tell you there's a lot of traditional music that sounds might new-fangled to me.

The terminology available might be a bit inexact but the best I think we can do is link to provide some helpful links. Other suggestions? --Eitch 20:04, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
