I'm Thomas Phinney, a typographer and sometimes type designer. My day job is as product manager for fonts and global typography at Adobe Systems, where I've worked since 1997. Particular interests include OpenType and American Type Founders. My great-grandfather George R. Lawrence has a nice Wikipedia page.
