TPA Tour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The TPA Tour was a temporary name for the primary professional golf tour in the U.S. in the early 1980s, lasting for less than seven months.
In 1981, the PGA Tour had a marketing dispute with the PGA of America and decided to change its name. Beginning in late August 1981, the tour became the TPA Tour, for the "Tournament Players Association."[1] The disputed issues were resolved and the tour's name was changed back to the PGA Tour in March 1982.[2]
