Toussaint the leper colony chief (ca.1890 - ???, in Chacachacare). Was a French man, believed to have served time at Devil's Island had obtained leprosy probably on the island. He was sent to a leper colony on Chacachacare and stayed in the colony the rest of his life. In 1934, Henri Charriere with his fellow escapees Clusiot and Maturette went to his colony to get some money and a boat. Toussaint stayed on the island the remainder of his life and probably died in the 1940s.
