Tour of the Universe was a space shuttle simulation ride located in the basement level of the CN Tower.
Construction began in 1984 and the ride began operations in 1986 and was the idea of Moses Znaimer. It was built by SimEx of Toronto and was the largest scale simulation ride at the time. The ride was suspose to occur in the year 2019 and carried 40 passengers of the shuttle cleared through a custom area. The spacecraft was supposed to operated by CP Air. The shuttle depicted was similar to the US space shuttle, but instead of a cargo bay the ship had a passenger compartment. The launch pad was located at the base of the tower and arrived at a space station. The concept lasted until 1990 and later dismantled. It was later replaced by two other SimEx rides in 1998 and 1999.
