Tortoises of Pakistan

There are ten species of tortoises in Pakistan. Two of them live on dry land permanently. Eight live in water. Usually dry landers are called tortoises and those who live in water are called turtles.

• Trionyx gangeticus
• Trionyx hurum
• Chitra indica
• Lissemys punctata
• Testudo horsfieldi
