Tor Hyams is a songwriter and music producer whose roster of artists include Joan Osborne, Vivian Campbell, Billy Gibbons, Lou Rawls, Broadway Star Rachel York, Lisa Loeb, Perry Farrell, Deborah Harry and more.
Hyams wrote and produced a children's CD for Disney's Buena Vista Records called A World of Happiness featuring performances from Samuel L. Jackson, Magic Johnson, Lou Rawls, Isaac Hayes, Debbie Harry, Gary Oldman, Perry Farrell, Lisa Loeb, Michael McKean, Annette O'Toole, Brad Whitford, and Jane Kaczmarek. He also co-produced a music video, directed by Gary Oldman, featuring a duet by Rock music icons Perry Farrell and Deborah Harry.
Hyams also developed and presented a music festival for kids with rock icon Perry Farrell called Kidzapalooza which successfully debuted in Chicago. He is also in production on several more children's albums for various labels and is executive producing a new album for Grammy-nominated classical artist Jonathan Elias.
Hyams has also produced a Diane Warren composition for MTV which included the talents of Michelle Branch, Bubba Sparxx & Sleepy Brown, Monica and J.C. Chasez. In addition, Hyams has produced a number of artists and compilations for TVT Records and UMS Records in New York.
In television, Hyams has composed themes and music packages for NBC, ABC, CBS, TBS, Showtime, The History Channel, USA, FX, Bravo, MTV, Sony and Paramount Television. Additionally, he has scored several feature films, including projects for Miramax, Artisan Entertainment, The Shooting Gallery and Fox Searchlight.
His pet project, Chutzpah (starring George Segal, Gary Oldman, Debi Mazar, et al), has received accolades from the HBO Comedy Festival and the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival Audience Award.
