Toolstation Ltd is a large UK direct and online supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware products. The company was formed in 2003 by Mark Goddard-Watts following the sale of Screwfix Direct to the Kingfisher plc group, a significant event in the UK dot-com boom, and has expanded quickly to become a significant rival to Screwfix.

The company head office and main distribution centre is in Bridgwater, Somerset where the company is a major employer for the area. This is now supplemented by an expanding number of shops and trade counters across the UK.

[edit] Trade Partnership

On Monday 7th April 2008, it was announced that Toolstation Ltd and Travis Perkins plc have agreed a new partnership.

Travis Perkins, with a successful history which can be traced back to 1797, is a long-established name in the building supplies sector.

Travis Perkins has now invested in Toolstation and will be supporting an accelerated roll-out of Toolstation branches. The partnership means that Toolstation will continue to run independently, but with the financial backing of one of the UK's most successful companies.

[edit] Sponsorship
