Tony Maylam (1943) is an English-born filmmaker. He began his career in 1972 with the film Cup Glory, but his best-known film is the 1981 cult classic slasher film The Burning, which was given a rating of R by the MPAA only after extensive editing of the violence.
He also helmed The Sins of Dorian Gray, a 1983 made-for-TV adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel The Picture of Dorian Gray that starred Anthony Perkins. 1992 saw the release of Split Second, a sci-fi thriller starring Rutger Hauer.
Since that time he has primarily directed documentaries that focus on automobiles.
