Toni Warner (née Thompson) is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street.She has been portrayed by Laura Hill since 2001.
She was briefly married to nurse Matt McCallister in 2002 until he cheated on her with Li Mei Chen.She was also romantically involved with doctors Adam Heywood and Logan.
She is nursing manager at Shortland Street Hospital and head nurse of the Primary Care Clinic where she worked with Callum McKay. She married Dr. Chris Warner in 2004, they separated in 2007. Toni had a younger brother, Dominic Thompson who killed Dr. Geoff Greenlaw and PA Avril Lurich, before committing suicide in 2004.

During 2007 she fled with Harry and her brother-in-law Guy after she discovered that her husband Chris had cheated on her with Rachel McKenna and Justine Jones. Chris ran after them when their flagged passports passed through Sydney Airport, and left Craig as acting CEO of the hospital. Now Chris discovered he can trace them from the IP address of their emails his niece Tuesday sent him and learnt they were in Australia. Toni had applied for full custody of Harry, prompting outrage from Chris. Lara Wade a police officer working on the Ferndale Strangler case told Chris that Toni and Harry were in Christchurch. He found their house and met his niece and Harry, who run off when they were supposedly inside the house to get Harrys puppy.

In December Toni returned to Ferndale with Guy, Tuesday and Harry. In the 2007 season finale she was involved in a car crash with Guy Warner, Tuesday Warner and her son Harry. In the 2008 season premiere it was revealed she had survived the crash but she was rushed into surgery and lost a kidney; as her other kidney is also damaged there is a possibility she could end up on dialysis.

Tuesday and Harry are currently living with Chris. On January 23, 2008 Toni was released from hospital and is currently staying with Sarah and TK Samuels. The same day she was visited by Callum McKay (they became friends when they discovered Chris and Justine were having an affair) he offered her her old job at the Primary Care Clinic and Toni receives a pleading phone call from Guy from rehab said it was over and bye but she refused to believe him and after a talk with Tuesday; Toni returned to Guy and opened up to him about how they are the same and belong together the conversation ended with them kissing.
In recent times, Toni and Chris have had the opportunity to talk through their last tumultuous months and have each accepted responsibility for their past actions. In fact, a reconciliation could be on the cards. But is Toni ready to commit to the older Warner brother once more, or does she still hold a soft spot for the reckless but enervating younger brother, Guy?
