[edit] University of Tokyo
Dear Tomgally, Thank you for your very kind note. The Yasuda architecture is quite fascinating - a kind of Japanese Deco-Gothic in brick - and as Wikipedia is an excellent repository for copyright-free architectural photos... Well, as I say, thank you for your kindness. Then I got very interested in your page, and especially the immense numbers of technical contributions from your chemistry students. I used to teach in Taiwan myself, and think this is a superb & very useful idea for student writing practice. With all best wishes, Daderot
[edit] New Yorker
Thanks for your comments about The New Yorker, I do like what you added to the page about their punctuation style. You're a true reader (and I suspect a grammarian).
I'll add some more to the page when I get a chance. I give walking tours in NYC and the offices from Harold Ross and his pals (and their homes) is on it. The magazine is in a book I wrote called "A Journey into Dorothy Parker's New York" which just came out.
It seems like the New Yorker just sweeps away how the magazine was started and why it became successful. If it wasn't for Ross counting on the support of his friends at the Algoquin, we probably would not have the magazine today. I also would like to see Jane Grant get more credit too.
Thanks for the nod.

- Do you have any interest in Life (magazine)? I just rewrote the entire article. I'd like to get it to be as good as The New Yorker entry. If you want to run through it, I'd like that, I respect all that you've done to make The New Yorker article so much better. Thanks. --K72ndst 04:41, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Frets, guitar neck, C-major chord.jpg
Your image is mislabeled. The chord that you have there is an inversion of c-major. It is called C/G. It is where the bass note is not the root of the chord. You have a G in the bass. The root of the chord is C.

I appreciate your pointing out my mistake.

- I read through the instructions on nonfree content, but I was unable to decide whether, based on those instructions, the image in question is in fact freely available for use or not. I would be grateful if those who understand the issue better than I do could make that decision. Tom Gally 03:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
