Tom Seaver Day

On an April 24, 2007 broadcast of a New York Mets baseball game, announcer Gary Cohen declared that April 26 was Tom Seaver Day at Shea Stadium. Over the course of five years, from 1970 to 1974, Tom Seaver pitched four complete games with one shutout (skipping 1973).

- All games were played in under 2½ hours.
- All games were NY Mets "away" games.
- The 1970 game was played during the day, the others were night games
- Seaver hit in all 4 games going 6 for 15 (.400) with 3 RBIs, 1 double, and 1 sacrifice.
- Bud Harrelson was the only other player to appear in all 4 games, Jerry Grote caught the last three (Duffy Dyer - 1970).
- Seaver lost on April 27, 1973. He also didn't fair well in the other April 26 games he pitched in during his career.
