Tom Nyuma

Tom Nyuma (born in Kailahun, Kailahun District, Sierra Leone) is a retired Sierra Leonean military commander. He was at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces before he retired. Nyuma was one of the young officers in the Sierra Leonean army that ousted the currupted Joseph Saidu Momoh lead All People's Congress (APC) government on April 29, 1992, and they established the National Provisional Ruling Council (NPRC). During the NPRC administration Nyuma was the commander of the Eastern Province. He is a member of the Kissi ethnic group.
