Talk:Tommy Mottola

Does a five year marriage really count as short? It's hardly fuckin' Elizabeth Taylor here.
Yes, though it seems it was effectively over by 1996. -- Beardo 05:09, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Needs tidying up the two mentions of Thalia. -- Beardo 05:09, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Still, a five year marriage in the entertainment business counts as a long and successful marriage, even if the underlying relationship itself had fizzled much earlier. If a Hollywood marriage can make it to the two year mark, it's considered remarkable.
Is he still Jewish? I saw him on him marrying Thalia...and that was a Christian church...
He(It) would have of to refrain from making this metier...
[edit] Budgeting
The article seems to imply that Mottola spent far too much of the record company's money on promoting Mariah Carey, but this doesn't take into account the success Carey had for the record company. Mariah Carey had more #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 for Columbia Records than anybody else had ever had (on any record label), except for the Beatles and Elvis Presley. Mottola may have been spending five times the budget of a normal artist on Carey, but her albums sold more than five times as much as a normal artist's did. --Metropolitan90 05:43, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
