Removed "his major victory of they year" referencing the world championships. For a Belgian rider, victory The Tour of Flanders is considered significantly more important and Boonen has said so himself. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 140.247.240.241 (talk) 22:19, March 6, 2006 (UTC)

It may be true that Belgians in general (and Tom Boonen in particular) view the Tour of Flanders as being more important than the World's but I'd argue that from an objective point of view, they hold at least equal importance. In any case I agree that the current wording is better since it doesn't "play down" his victories in the classics at the start of the season as much. --Armchair ninja 09:18, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
