Toby Jessel

Toby Henry Francis Jessel (born 11 July 1934) is a former British Conservative Party politician.

Jessel was educated at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth and Balliol College, Oxford and was an exporter. He served as a councillor in the London Borough of Southwark from 1964.

Jessel contested Peckham in 1964 and Kingston upon Hull North twice in 1966 in both a by-election and the subsequent general election. He represented Richmond-upon-Thames on the Greater London Council 1967-73. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for Twickenham from 1970 until he was defeated by Liberal Democrat Vincent Cable at the 1997 general election.
