Toba Sōjō

Toba Sōjō (鳥羽 僧正?) (1053-1140), also known as Kakuyū (覚猷?), was a Japanese astronomer, an artist-monk, and the son of Minamoto-no-Takakuni.
He is said to be the artist of the famous picture scroll Chōjū-giga.
