"To the Person Sitting in Darkness" is an essay by Mark Twain published in 1901. It is a satire of the Philippine-American War expressing Twain's anti-Imperialist views. It mentions and references the historical figures Emilio Aguinaldo, William McKinley, Joseph Chamberlain and others, and references the Boer War and Boxer Rebellion.
