T.J. Benoit has been integrating small business owners with Information Technology (IT) since 1983 when he designed his first Accounts Receivable/Order Entry PC program for a Costume Manufacturer. His knowledge of computers extends from mainframe programming (Travelers Insurance Company) in the late 1970’s (just out of college), to System 36/38 AS/400 platforms, as well as Novell, Microsoft and Apple software. He has developed hundreds of applications specifically used in business environments, ranging from Accounting to Medical and Collections systems. His “NetClean+” application won “Shareware Pick of the Year” in 1994, and other software has been featured in “Computer Shopper”. His “PatrolDog” server monitor software was included in the “Microsoft TechNet “emerging software” November 2005 article.

TAB Computer Systems Inc. (TAB) was started in his basement in 1983. TAB now has more than 1,500 small business clients in the New England area. T.J. continues to be active in all facets of TAB’s daily operations. He was selected as a “Forty Under 40” designee in 1999 in recognition for the growth of his small business, and was twice nominated for “Small IT Business of the Year” by the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce.

He has served on the advisory board for education and curriculum at Goodwin College in East Hartford, CT. He is an active Rotarian, and a Paul Harris Fellow, recognized by Rotary International for his dedication to public service. He has served as a Rotarian officer in every capacity, including President.

He has written weekly columns for the New Britain Herald Press and contributes to various sites about the state of IT and specific development platforms. His articles on the “Communications Decency Act” have been published by the American Library Association and quoted in many other publications.

Since 1995, he has been the co-cost of “Computer Talk with TAB”, a weekly talk radio show on WTIC-AM 1080. He fields thousands of technology and business questions during the course of a year. He is also frequently called upon as an industry expert for IT issues and their business impact for other talk radio shows and television.

T.J. is married with three children and resides in the Hartford, CT area.
