Letitia "Tish" Jones is a recurring fictional character in the long running British science fiction television series Doctor Who, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
She is the sister of the Tenth Doctor's companion Martha Jones and of Leo Jones. Her parents, Francine and Clive Jones, are divorced. Her cousin, Adeola Oshodi, died in the Doctor Who episode "Army of Ghosts" (2006).
She first appears in "Smith and Jones" (2007), witnessing the disappearance and reappearance of the Royal Hope Hospital. She also attends her brother's 21st birthday party in the evening of that day, after which Martha leaves in the TARDIS.
Tish returns in "The Lazarus Experiment" (2007) which sees Martha's first trip home since starting her travels in the TARDIS. In "The Lazarus Experiment", it is the day after Leo's party and Tish is seen working in her new job. She is employed by Professor Lazarus as head of PR. She flirts with him until he transforms into a monster and tries to kill her. After being pursued by Lazarus a couple of times, she is ultimately saved when the Doctor uses a cathedral pipe organ to generate enough sonic energy to defeat Lazarus. Tish in turn saves Martha from falling to her death.
Tish's attitude toward the Doctor is generally positive. She is perplexed when he gets into Lazarus' reception without being on the guest list, and calls him a "science geek" when he asks a question about her employer's experiment, which the Doctor takes as a compliment. Her reaction implies that Tish expects Martha's dates to be scientifically inclined. Tish is the first of Martha's relatives to guess that Martha has feelings for the Doctor, and tells Francine that the two "will look out for each other".
In "The Sound of Drums", the Master reveals that he was responsible for Tish being employed by Lazarus in "The Lazarus Experiment" as part of a trap for the Doctor and Martha. The Master later employs her directly in "The Sound of Drums" as his assistant under his alias as Prime Minister Harold Saxon, at 10 Downing Street. She is unsure what her job actually entails and is told to "stand there and look gorgeous" by Mr Saxon. She is arrested when Martha rings her mobile to warn her that she is in danger and is taken with her parents to the Valiant where she is held.
In "Last of the Time Lords", Tish is seen to have been forced to work as a servant for the Master for a year aboard the Valiant, and to watch the destruction of Japan take place. Tish conspires with the Doctor, Jack Harkness, Francine and Clive against the Master, but their rebellion is quashed. Appalled at the number of people he has killed, she vows to kill the Master, even at the cost of her own life; Francine, who has similar intentions, is dismayed by Tish's willingness to die for the cause.
Because Tish was aboard the Valiant (in the "eye of the storm" as the Doctor termed it), she is one of few people to remember the past year's events after time is rolled back when Martha saves the Earth. She is later seen at home with her family.
