Tim Wu: I'm in despair! Having to wake up early in the morning for a 2-hour long class has left me in despair!!! O_O -Timwu5486 (talk) 02:08, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
1. Kaohsiung My expertise in this subject comes from the fact that Kaohsiung is actually the city where I was born and grew up in, so I know quite a lot about it. It is the second largest city in Taiwan and has the largest harbor in Taiwan, monitoring most of the imports and exports.
2. Southridge High School (Beaverton, Oregon) I have expertise in this subject because I graduated from Southridge High School. I attended the school since freshman year in 2001 until I graduated as a senior in 2005. I was also an active member of the Art Club. One of my artworks also received awards from the arts department.
3. DrumMania DrumMania is a series of music video games produced by Japanese company Konami. The game is basically a realistic drum simulation arcade machine with a hi-hat, a snare, high & low toms, a ride cymbal, and a bass drum. The player plays the game by hitting the correct notes of an installed song as they are displayed on the screen. I have expertise in this subject because I have been playing the game since high school and know quite a lot about it. This game is also the reason I became interested in percussion.
4. Anime I am a huge fan of Japanese anime and manga and I collect them as a hobby. I also watch anime and read manga on a regular basis, which is why I would know enough about this subject to critically review it. I have been watching anime even before I learned to speak, but I treated anime and manga only as a way to kill time until after I started high school, when I began exploring deeper into the subject. While I may not know each and every detail about every title in the history of anime, I certainly know a lot more than an average person would.
5. Mandarin (linguistics) I think I have expertise in this subject because Mandarin Chinese is my native language and I still speak it with a lot of my Taiwanese friends. Also, I lived in Taiwan for 15 years and Mandarin Chinese is the primary language there. I also read Chinese novels and short stories occasionally as a hobby. Mandarin Chinese is the language that I feel the most comfortable speaking, and it is a part of who I am.
[edit] Wiki 2 Assignment
I chose to edit the DrumMania article that I listed as one of my five areas of expertise in the Wiki 1 assignment. The reason is that I think the article lacks images. Therefore I decided I can add a screen-shot image of the actual game-play of DrumMania in the Gameplay section of the article. The image is from the official DrumMania website in Japanese.
