Timm Hackett is a professor of English at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He is a former sports writer and columnist for the New Bern Sun Journal, The Washington Daily News, and Minority Golf Magazine. His works include profiles on Champions Tour golfers Walter Morgan and Lee Trevino. He wrote and produced the 1991 radio drama "Wake Up America: A Tribute to Martin Luther King."
