Tim Rigby (Broadcaster)

Tim Rigby is a long time sports anchor and Executive Producer for WJAC-TV in Pennsylvania

Rigby joined WJAC in 1981 as a reporter and weekend sports anchor. By 1982, he began anchoring the weekday sports segemnts at 11 PM. On December 11th 1996, he briefly left WJAC to take a non-broadcasting job in Johnstown, only to return to the air less than a week later.

In 1994, Rigby was voted the #1 play-by-play man in Pennsylvania from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press for his coverage of the All American Amateur Baseball Association tournament. He also has done play-by-play for the Johnstown Chiefs and other local events.

Rigby has had a few health scares in recent years. In February 2005, he was diagnosed with kidney disease and underwent a kidney transplant. A year and a half later in October 2006, Tim was diagonsed with Anaplastic Lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy and returned to the desk on April 23rd, 2007.

Rigby has also recently been added as the 5:00 co-news anchor with Jennifer Johnson.
