Tim Hughes (born July 23, 1978) is a Christian worship leader and songwriter with Survivor Records, who is currently Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican church in central London and heads up Worship Central, a new worship training resource. The son of an Anglican vicar, he grew up in Birmingham, later moving to High Wycombe as a teenager as his father was appointed vicar of St Andrew's Church, Hatters Lane. In 1997, aged only 19, Hughes was asked by Mike Pilavachi to lead worship at the Soul Survivor festivals. He also studied History at Sheffield University, graduating in 2000[1].

Prior to his current post, Hughes worked at Soul Survivor Watford Church, where he was Worship Pastor (the current Worship Pastor is Ben Cantelon). He moved to Holy Trinity Brompton in 2005 and, with Associate Director of Worship Al Gordon, has set up the Worship Central project.

Hughes has recorded and released three albums: Here I Am to Worship in 2001, When Silence Falls in 2004 and Holding Nothing Back in 2007. His Dove Award-winning song "Here I Am to Worship" has become a world-renowned worship song. Other well known tracks of his include "Beautiful One"; "Jesus, You Alone"; "Consuming Fire"; "living for your glory"; and "Whole World in His Hands". Holding Nothing Back, his third album, was released on April 3rd, 2007, and includes songs like "The Highest and the Greatest", "God of Justice", and "Everything".

Hughes' songs are published by in the UK by Survivor Records and distributed globally by EMI CMG

Hughes published Passion For Your Name in 2003, in which he gives his advice on many issues, including worship leading and songwriting. He has also recently published a book called Holding Nothing Back, the same name as his third album.

Hughes leads a school of worship known as "Worship Central" based at Holy Trinity Brompton .

Christian Today, the online news site, reports [2] Hughes as saying “the heart is to find as many ways possible to resource worship leaders and musicians to strengthen the church.”
